UVA Synchronicity
This is one of my favourite exhibitions this year, I love the design language of the artists in this exhibition, it gave me a great sensory experience and a lot of inspiration.
The artist uses data collection to simultaneously display on a large screen the headlines of various events happening in the world at a given moment, in order to express the current era of information bombardment. It is a very direct visual expression that conveys the point and is very easy to understand.
The artist wanted to control the speed of time in the eyes of the visitors by using three beams of spotlights moving in different directions and at different speeds. To be honest, I didn't feel any change in time at the beginning, but when I walked through the venue (the exhibition area is a sloping corridor), the three lights struck me rhythmically in sequence, and I suddenly felt the time .
In addition, I also like the design of the exhibition's movement line, room 1-8 are in order to enter, but at the end of the exhibition, you need to pass through the corridor of the exhibition area of room 1-8 are entered sequentially, but at the end of the exhibition, you need to pass through the corridor of Our time again before you can go out of the whole exhibition hall, like some kind of time rewinding feeling,I love it.
Sitting on the round chair in the middle of the installation, you will be surrounded by the sounds of various animals in nature, and the patterns on the LED light columns around you will change with the sounds, triggering thoughts about the relationship between human beings and animals in an immersive experience. This is an installation with multi-sensory experience, which is related to the theme I want to study, and I can refer to its form and expression content.
This is one of the more abstract works, the artist used random programming to create a searchlight that seems to be constantly searching for its target, moving and rotating in an unpredictable trajectory. I was shocked when I first entered the gallery because of its random dynamics and the slight blasting sound it made, as if it was an aggressive living creature sweeping the room (perhaps randomly moving objects are more likely to bring people a sense of life).
