Image improvement 3
The first time, I fired these tiles at 760 degrees for 25 minutes. After firing I noticed that the pattern was very light in colour. This means that the firing temperature was too high or too long.
I tried lowering the temperature to 720 degrees, which turned out to be a little better, but still light in colour.
On the third attempt I lowered the temperature to 650 degrees. The reason for lowering the temperature more this time was to try and see if the cover coat could be completely burned off at a much lower temperature than recommended. The results indicated that the cover coat was completely burned off at 650 degrees and the colour development was fine.
So I decided to use 650 degrees for the finished product. (The three rows of the picture below are the results of 760 degrees, 720 degrees and 650 degrees, respectively.)
But when I fired it at 650 degrees I found that the colours were still on the light side, especially the larger pieces. so I decided to leave this batch as an alternative and continue to test the image colours.
