Ceramic digital print 1
I adjusted the image file to the actual size of the ceramic piece after two firings and made a ceramic digital print.
I found that the pink parts will have a colour difference when printed and will lean towards orange, but I don't think it's a big deal.
Originally I would have been concerned that the curled ceramic piece would be difficult to transfer the full image, but with practice I found this to be doable.
The visual effect of the image is good when transferred to the ceramic, but there are some drawbacks, the water rippling part of the sound visualisation looks less obvious when scaled down, and when you don't look at it closely it appears to be a normal floral pattern. So I think I should adjust my image to make the sound visualisation more obvious.
Pieces before fired
After the digitally printed ceramic pieces were fired, I noticed that some of them had image defects, which indicated that the transfer paper and the ceramic pieces did not fit well during the transfer, and that air bubbles existed between the two. To fix this, I may need to make the ceramic sheets a little less curved, and also, this suggests that ceramic digital transfers have a certain failure rate on curved planes, and I will need to make more ceramic sheets just in case.
Also, I've found that lighter coloured patterns, such as those of daisies, can be even lighter in colour and almost invisible after firing, so I need to avoid these very light colours when selecting images.
