Metal brooch making 1

To complete and refine the brooch, I tried to set the ceramic piece in a claw setting. I used a piece of copper to saw a complete claw-set piece to the shape of the ceramic piece and soldered two short pieces of copper bar to the back of it, and accordingly drilled two small holes in the back of the ceramic piece for reinforcement between the two pieces. However, I found this layer of reinforcement to be unnecessary, and the claw setting is strong enough this way.

In making this metal part, I found it more time-consuming to saw out the shape entirely by hand, especially if I needed to make a lot of similar parts. So subsequently I can try to get the shape with the help of other tools or laser cutting.
